          P-S converter is a smelting equipment for blowing matte or nickel matte into blister copper or high nickel matte during the smelting process of non-ferrous metals such as copper and nickel. P-S converter converting technology and equipment are mature, it is more convenient to handle cold materials, and blister copper contains low sulfur.           Descriptions

          1) Working principle: P-S converter blowing is a periodic operation, which is divided into slag making period and copper making period. The purpose of the slagging phase is to oxidize FeS in the copper matte to generate FeO and Fe, O, and add SiO flux to create slag. During the slag-making period, the copper matte produced by the smelting is lifted from the ladle and added to the converter through the furnace mouth. After an appropriate amount of copper matte is accumulated in the furnace, the blower is blown and flux is added to start blowing and slag-making. After the reaction is completed, the air is stopped and the furnace is turned. First, pour the slag from the furnace mouth into the slag bag, and then add the next batch of copper matte to the artificial slag stage. When the amount of copper existing in the form of CuS in the converter reaches about 200 t and the iron content in the matte phase reaches about 1%, it enters the copper-making stage, and CuS is oxidized to produce blister copper. After the copper-making period is over, the blister copper melt is poured into a ladle through the furnace mouth and transported to the anode furnace for refining.

The entire furnace body rests on the supporting roller, and the driving device rotates forward and backward around the horizontal axis to move the furnace mouth to a position suitable for feeding, blowing, slag discharge and copper extraction.
